There appears to be huge concern about fire exits being locked in Student Accommodation blocks in Universities across the UK which has led to Fire Officials writing to every University in the Country.
Whether this is down to the recent lockdowns, where perhaps blocks have been empty for a while, or for whatever reason, it is never acceptable under any circumstances to use cables ties or any other device to intentionally lock a fire exit door which is relied upon for escape purposes.
