I feel terribly sorry for these residents in high rise blocks of flats with cladding issues. They are saying it is ripping their lives apart. It is costing them a fortune and driving them to despair. They feel let down by this Government and they don't know whether they are coming or going. Just to add insult to injury their insurance companies have quadrupled their prices just to kick the boot in a little harder.

Waking watch costs are crippling them when there are much more cost effective and less disruptive systems that could be considered.

Whether its a fire risk assessor, engineer or other professional covering their back and putting the fear of god into these residents they need to realise that by doing so they are financially and emotional crippling these residents.

We learnt so much from Grenfell which was tragic beyond words. But what I don't think is being considered and should be is that we now have this knowledge about cladding that we didn't have before. Firstly the evacuation procedure in these buildings has gone from Stay Put to Full Evacuation and secondly, in my opinion, there are so many more safer systems that can be put into place to speed up this evacuation without destroying the lives of the residents.
