This electrical fire in Swindon which was started by an extension cable shows the importance of ensuring the safety of the electrics in your building.
Regular PAT testing and a five yearly fixed circuit and installation electrical test are vital for all buildings.
Your fire risk assessment should consider your electrical appliances and electrical safety.

London Fire Brigade rescued many people from this block of flats fire in Bethnal Green.
Hopefully nobody was seriously hurt but it goes to show the importance of having a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment in place which must consider external rapid fire spread.

Fascinating article in the Metro about residents who feel physically, emotionally and financially trapped living in flats with dangerous cladding during the lockdown.
One resident has had a nervous breakdown and others are fearful for their lives at a time when they can barely leave their flats during the lockdown period.
They bought the flats in good faith and have now been told they are currently worthless. It’s like having the outside of the building covered in Petrol they were once told.
They have a walking watch in place costing them a fortune and have already invested in a new fire alarm system.
They can see money is available because of how the Government have come up with it during lockdown but have not had a single cladding panel removed.
They deserve better.
